Route details

Day 1
First Steps into the West Cyclades: Serifos Intro

Step onto the island of Serifos and let the Aegean immediately slow your pace as you arrive at a traditional, family-run guesthouse surrounded by whitewashed walls and quiet island light. Drop your bags, open the window, and let the sea breeze announce the beginning of something new.

Begin your introduction to the West Cyclades with a guided briefing on the history and culture of Serifos, Sifnos & Milos, where ancient myths, mining heritage, and island life still shape the present. Listen closely and map the invisible threads that connect these islands across the sea.

Walk down to the soft, golden curve of Psili Ammos beach and step into crystal waters that feel almost unreal in their clarity. Swim, float, and allow the journey to begin not in movement, but in stillness.

As the sun lowers, make your way up to Chora, where narrow alleys glow in warm evening light. Sit down at a local tavern, taste traditional Cycladic dishes, and let the first night unfold in slow, shared island rhythm.

Tour provider's comments

Our recommended walks during the West Cyclades Walking holiday are graded as easy to moderate. We will walk mainly on paths of easy or moderate gradient with ascents of up to 500m in a day. We will walk up to 4-6 hours in the day including stops to rest and for lunch. Being predominately limestone some parts of our paths can be quite rough and stoney.
