Route details

At 09:00, the tour starts from the parking lot behind Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia. The Rila Monastery is about 120 km from Sofia, so the trip lasts about 2 hours.

From 10:30 to 12:30, you visit the Stob Pyramids, one of the most popular rock pyramids in Bulgaria.

From 13:00 to 14:00, you have lunch and relax in a local restaurant, enjoying delicious food, fine wine, and a lovely atmosphere.

From 14:00 to 15:30, you spend an enjoyable afternoon at the Rila Monastery, learning about Bulgaria’s history during the Bulgarian Revival Period (18th–19th centuries).

From 15:30 to 16:30, you visit the cave of Ivan Rilski.

At 17:00, you depart back to Sofia.

At 19:00, you are expected to arrive in Sofia at the parking lot behind Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.
