Departing from Belgrade, the route leads to Zlatibor, where you stroll around the central lake and discover the story of its rise as a mountain resort, with an optional panoramic gondola ride to Tornik peak. The experience continues aboard the historic Šargan Eight, winding through tunnels and bridges, before arriving at Drvengrad, the wooden cultural complex created by Emir Kusturica.

Route details

Departure from Belgrade

Morning departure toward western Serbia. Scenic drive through rural landscapes with short commentary en route.

Zlatibor

Arrival in Zlatibor. Walk around the central lake and pedestrian zone. Introduction to the history and development of this mountain resort. Free time in the town center.

Optional activity: ride on the 9-km Gold Gondola to Tornik peak for panoramic views of the Zlatibor highlands.

Šargan Eight

Train ride on the historic narrow-gauge railway “Šargan Eight.” The route passes through mountain tunnels and across scenic bridges, with scheduled stops for photos at panoramic viewpoints.

Drvengrad

Visit to the wooden ethno-village built on Mećavnik Hill. Walk through the complex with its wooden streets, cultural spaces, and viewpoints overlooking the surrounding mountains. Free time for individual exploration.

Return to Belgrade

Drive back to Belgrade in the evening.

Optional extension

Upon request, the tour can be extended with an overnight stay and additional visits to Tara, Drina, or the meanders of Uvac.
